Eagle obverse exhibits darkened patina w/traces of remaining gilt, and a clean sharp face. Reverse attachments rusted but solid. Lead backing moderately corroded and pitted, w/traces of oxidation. Accompanied by note from “Lawrence of Dalton, GA,” stating that the breast plate was found on a rock on top of Lookout Mtn. back in the 1880s. Fine display breast plate, excellent Lookout Mtn. relic collectible. [JP]
