This is part of collection of buttons excavated in central Virginia. This is an early coin-style button with nice silver color to the face and engraved detail. The central motif is a six-pointed starburst or sun with rays. The edge has a narrow border line with zig-zag points, playing on the star design of the middle. The shank is missing thought the base is evident. [sr]
