This is part of collection of buttons excavated in central Virginia and this one was found at Clark’s Mountain, an important landmark and observation point during the war. The face is a crusty chocolate brown with good definition of the raised “I.”

The back and shank are in place with some dirt. This is a basic item for a Confederate collection, coat size, and displays well.  [sr]
