This spur was retrieved from the September 17, 1862 battlefield of East Woods at Antietam, Maryland in 1962 as indicated by the original digger's typed tag. It is bent, missing its rowel and exhibits a great deal of verdigris with some surface rust. It measures 4.5 inches long by 3.25 inches wide.
