Pair of dress, bullion epaulettes for an infantry officer. Epaulette upper-surfaces feature gold bullion “boards” with ¼” wide embroidered bullion edging and stamped brass “clam shell”. Triple row hanging bullion tassels. Each epaulette has a medium sized eagle button screw mounted. Buttons are back marked “G & CLE / PARIS”.  Each is adorned with two individual bars to denote the rank of captain. These bars are constructed using silver bullion thread and are straight pinned in place.  A round emblem is also pinned to each epaulette.  These have blue fields and feature the number “10” in the center. The number and a border on each are embroidered with silver bullion thread.

Undersides are lined with red Moroccan leather and red velvet. A unique brass attachment device is attached to the underside; each slotted with ends marked “left”  “right”.

The epaulettes exhibit typical tarnishing for their age.  A few wear spots but overall in very good condition.   [jet]
