Light weight steel helmet as used by German Police during WW2. These helmets were worn during regular duty when the combat helmet would be too heavy.
The body of this helmet has its original black paint as well as the two original decals of the Police eagle with wreath and swastika and the red shield with a black swastika on a white field. Both decals show some light wear but they are 95% intact. Original paint is present throughout with moderate scuffing from age, use and storage. Exterior is free of dings and dents. Crown has four vents, two on each side. Vents consist of seven small holes arranged in a circular pattern.
Interior has the leather sweatband with pad in the crown. Sweatband is held in place by four rivets and shows heavy wear with five of the eight liner tongues completely intact. Base of the liner has only two of the tabs for attaching a leather skirt to protect the neck. Chinstrap is missing. [ad]
