Pair of early Medical Service epaulettes with tinned case. Body of each epaulette is made of gold ribbed cloth material outlined in bright bullion. Anchor button is an Artillery “A” button. Raised brass clamshell is outlined with a single row of thick twisted bullion. Inside the clamshell are the initials “MS” done in gold bullion thread surrounded by a wreath of dark and bright bullion thread. Tassels are in good condition and are made of thick twisted bullion wire. The surfaces of these epaulettes do show some soiling from age and storage. Undersides are made of gold cloth. Each one has the remains of the tie-down anchors but neither is complete. Tin case is japanned and also shows signs of age. No dents but numerous scratches. Latch works and carrying handle is present.
