Large cream color ribbon in fair to good condition; has aged to a yellow color. Ribbon has a photo of the association President for 1915 Lieut. Edward D. Taylor. Printed below photo is “37th / Mass. Reg’t Ass’n / G.A.R. HALL / NORTH ADAMS MASS. / September 16, 1915 / Guests of Lincoln Camp, No. 39, Sons of Veterans”. Back of the ribbon lists 21 engagements the 37th was involved in from Fredericksburg to Sailor’s Creek.
Edward D. Taylor was a 27 year old farmer from Agawan, MA when he enlisted on 8/7/62 as a Sergeant. On 8/30/62 he mustered into Co. G, 37th Massachusetts Infantry. Promoted to 2nd Lt. 9/23/64 and transferred to Co. K. Promoted to 1st Lieut. 5/24/65 (not mustered). Mustered out 6/21/65 at Washington, DC. [ad]
