The top bar of this medal is rectangular with “PITTSBURG, PENNA. 1939.” The reverse of the bar has the original pin.

Suspended from the bar by two small single chain links is a large drop of the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial which is in turn flanked by two shields. One shield represents Fort Pitt and the other is the coat of arms for the city of Pittsburg[h]. At very bottom is a medallion with the Woman’s Relief Corps insignia.

There is a cream colored ribbon suspended from the top bar that passes behind the whole medal. This ribbon marked at bottom with the gold lettering that reads “57TH NATIONAL CONVENTION WOMEN’S RELIEF CORPS PITTSBURGH 1939.”

The ribbon is attached to a manufacturer’s card explaining the keepsake value of their badges.
