Gold ribbon measures approx. 6.25 x 2.25 inches. Black print reads “RECEPTION COMMITTEE 10TH ANNUAL REUNION 35TH REG’T N.J. VET. VOL’S ASSOCIATION” over a GAR membership badge. Below the badge is “FLEMINGTON, N.J. JULY 26, 1899.” Ribbon has light surface dirt but all printing is readable and colors are strong. Bottom edge is curled slightly.
The 35th New Jersey served its year and a half in the Army of the Tennessee in the 16th and later the 17th Corps and was active in the Atlanta Campaign and the March to the Sea. During their service the regiment lost 159 officers & men killed, died of wounds and disease out of 1711 enrolled.
