Decorative brass hangar has “G.A.R.” on face. Suspended from this is an ivory silk ribbon with gold lettering that reads, “IN MEMORIAM” above a spread-winged eagle and star. Attached to the top and bottom of ribbon are black silk inserts with silver lettering. Top reads, “JOE HOOKER POST NO. 86, LINCOLN, MAINE”. Lower reads, “HONOR THE NOBLE DEAD”.  Hanging at the bottom is a gold bullion tassel which has been hand-sewn to the ribbon. Original pin is present on reverse of hangar. Ivory silk has yellowed with age and some light surface dirt is present.  [sm]
