Badge is surmounted by a large spread-winged eagle over crossed cannons and artillery shells. Reverse has the original pin. Suspended from this top piece is a gold silk ribbon approx. 2.00 inches long.
The top bar has single drop. It has the word “REPRESENTATIVE” across the top of a laurel wreath that is supported by a riband that reads “49TH NATIONAL ENCAMPMENT OCT. 2, 1915” while at center is a red, white and blue intertwined “GAR.”
The bottom brass portion, which would have been suspended from the lower end of the ribbon, is a circular drop on a laurel wreath frame. At center is the Capitol dome in another laurel wreath surrounded by “WASHINGTON” across the top. The reverse of the drop has a scene from the Grand Review.
Ribbon has some stress separations; the lower drop is completely separated. Light surface dirt. [ad]
