Beige colored ceramic canteen with blue accents has raised image of a G.A.R. ribbon and wording that reads, “G.A.R., COMPLIMENTS AUG WENTZ POST NO. 1, DAVENPORT, IOWA”. Reverse reads, “G.A.R. 26TH ANNUAL ENCAMPMENT, DEPT. OF IOWA, DAVENPORT, IOWA, JUNE 12-13-14, 1900”. Underside is stamped, “HINRICHS CROCKERY CO. DAVENPORT, IOWA”. Red ribbon sling and cork are present.
Body of canteen measures 3” in circumference. No chips, a couple small surface cracks. [sl]
