Top hangar is made of brass framed celluloid. Image in center is a G.A.R. membership badge, surrounded by words, "GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC". Original pin is on reverse. Suspended from this is a black silk ribbon with silver lettering that reads, "IN MEMORIAM / C. BRAINARD POST. NO. 503 / G.A.R. TRUMBULL, OHIO" Image is of a G.A.R. star. Reverse is a red, white and blue striped silk ribbon with silver lettering that reads, "C. BRAINARD / POST NO. 503 / G.A.R. TRUMBULL, OHIO". Bottom of ribbon is decorated with gold bullion fringe.
Measures 9" long by 2.25" wide. Item is in very good condition with no fraying. [sl]
