Top bar has no wording just a bright engraving of the state capitol building in Montgomery, Alabama. Bar has pin on back. Suspended from this top bar is a red and white ribbon. This ribbon exhibits light wear on its surface and is torn half way across in an area that is hidden by the top bar. Bright, clean medal at bottom has C.S.S. Alabama at top with Capitol building again at bottom. Very bottom has enameled Confederate Battle flag with scroll that reads "MONTGOMERY 1931." Along one side of this lower medal is a bust of Captain Semmes of the "Alabama" and across from him are the words "41ST REUNION UCV."
