$500.00 SOLD
Originally $700.00

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: M23558

Original German campaign sleeve insignia. Instituted on 16 October 1942, the “Kreta” cuffband was awarded to members of the German armed forces who participated in the air assault on Crete in May 1941. To qualify, the recipient had to participate in parachute or glider borne landings on the island between 20 and 27 May 1941, or other airborne operations – meaning that this award went primarily to paratroopers of the 7th Flieger-Division and troops of the 5th Mountain Division. The cuffband is marked “NBNr.0/0250/2340,” which is the manufacturer’s code (the maker – “2340” – is unknown, but the band was made in Berlin – “0250”). The cuffband is in excellent condition.
