Booklet meas. approx. 4.50 x 5.75 inches with a brown cardboard cover with eagle and swastika and “DEUTSCHES REICH ARBEITSBUCH.” The book runs 32 pages and belonged to Gunther Wolter who was born in 1915 and lived in Solingen, Germany.

The several pages filled out in this booklet show that Wolter was employed as an assistant to one Ernest Wolter from 1933-1935. He then served in the R. A. D. from October 4, 1935 to March 26, 1936 and from 1936-1937 he again was an assistant to Ernest Wolter. In 1937 he took a job at E & F Horster which was a manufacturer of edged weapons. The book also contains personal information on Wolter such as full birth date, hometown, marital status, training and so on.

With the booklet is an ID card for Otto Theis who was probably related to Gunther Wolter as the card came with the above booklet. The ID card was for people living in occupied territory after World War One. It is printed in German, French and English and tells us that Theis was a Prussian born in 1896 and was working as a filer in Solingen which was known for the production of blades for edged weapons. The card bears a photograph of Theis with three Police stamps.
