This booklet tells us that its owner was Herbert Knotpele who was born on November 17, 1909 in Darmstadt, Germany. He joined “Die Deutsche Arbeitsfront” or German Workers Front (aka. D. A. F for short) in 1934. This particular booklet shows that he paid dues from 1935 through September of 1944. From the booklet it appears that Knotpele was a trimmer working in the Hesse-Nassau area in central Germany.

This early version of the D.A.F. booklet shows that Knotpele was a loyal party member from the early days through to the end.

Book is in overall good condition with light wear to cover edges and spine.

The Workers Front was originally founded in 1933 and became an official Nazi organization in 1934. Its stated purpose was to educate all workers in industry and commerce for smooth and efficient operation of all Third Reich labor. The organizations goal was to provide political stability for a massive work force.  [ad]
