Helmet is the Model 1942 with rolled edge and impressed air vents.

Helmet is painted a dark gray color. The left side has the Luftwaffe decal of which 95% remains with a bit of scraping to the eagle’s body and wingtip.

The exterior paint is good with a number of small scratches mostly confined to the right side. These do not detract. All three liner rivets are present.

The interior of the helmet has paint that matches the exterior in color and condition. The leather liner is light brown in color with some wear and surface finish loss around the base. The crown has eight tongues drawn together by the original string. One of the eight leather tongues is torn but the rest are complete.

The left side of the shell is marked with an “ET64” which shows that the helmet was made Eisenhüttenwerke in Thale which was the largest helmet producers in Germany. The back skirt of the helmet bears lot number “1126.”
