Iron cylindrical grenade that meas. approx. 3.50 inches high with a chipped half inch recessed top and an uneven base. The body is crosshatched like the American pineapple grenade. The center of the top recess has a small hole for a wick. Sides have a pronounced mold seam.
The body of the item is pitted with light surface rust scattered throughout. There is a small hole drilled into the side where it was deactivated.814-* It would display well.
These grenades date from about 1915 and were tied to sticks and thrown at the Germans.
