The knife meas. approx. 12.00 inches long from point to pommel. The semi-bright blade is approx. 6.75 inches long. It has a clipped point with a true edge that shows signs of sharpening but is free of nicks. The last 3.50 inches of the top edge is also sharpened. Blade is unmarked and is clean. Each side has a 2.50 inch fuller. Left side has a casting flaw at center just forward of the fuller.
At the base of the blade is an iron guard marked “USN” over “MK2” on one side and “R.C.C.” on the other. Grip is made of ribbed leather. Heavy pommel cap is of iron.
Knife comes in the original gray hard plastic scabbard with an iron throat marked “USN” over “MK2.” The reverse of the throat is lightly marked “NORD-6581” over “B. M. CO.” Scabbard has a green woven canvas frog with retention straps made of the same material. The straps snap over the grip of the knife to hold it in place.
The overall condition of the item is good. The scabbard exhibits light dirt. Iron surfaces show light surface rust. [ad]
