Each stirrup has a ½” thick tread that features an iron top plate inset into the brass surface at the time of casting. The pad or tread surfaces exhibit a sharp front and rear edge on each stirrup. Each of the stirrups exhibits a very fine, mellow bronze patina overall with just normal dings from age and use. An excellent pair of early 20th century brass artillery
