Item Code: 558-590

Presented here is a fine pair of heavy cast brass stirrups in excellent original condition. Referred to as the Model 1904 artillery stirrup, these artifacts   are unmarked and each piece measures 5¼” high by 4¾” wide. It is believed that these type of equestrian accoutrements were issued with the M1904 McClellan artillery harness saddles.  Each stirrup has a ½” thick tread that features an iron top plate inset into the brass surface at the time of casting. The pad or tread surfaces exhibit a sharp front and rear edge on each stirrup.  Each of the stirrups exhibits a very fine, mellow bronze patina overall with just normal dings from age and use.  An excellent pair of early 20th century brass artillery.
