The full title of this volume is “HISTORY OF THE SECOND ARMY CORPS IN THE ARMY OF THE POTOMAC” by Francis A. Walker and published by Charles Scribner’s Sons of New York in 1891. Second Edition.

Volume is hardcover and meas. approx. 6.00 x 9.00 inches and runs 737 pages with index. The volume also has 16 black & white portraits and 30 maps.

Blue cloth boards are in nice condition but do show very light edge wear. Front cover has a gold 2nd Corps badge with the title in gold on the spine. Interior is very good though the page edges have yellowed with age. Binding is excellent though the front signature is split but holding in place.

First blank page is inscribed in ink “HORACE C. FISHER, 49 DAVIS AVE, BROOKLINE, MASS. JAN. 7, 1936.” Next to it is a modern pencil notation that reads “SON OF LT. COL. HORACE N. FISHER INSPECTOR GENERAL, MCCOOK’S CORPS. ARMY OF THE CUMBERLAND – ALSO AUTHOR OF “A STAFF OFFICER’S STORY.”    [ad][ph:L]
