Jameson enlisted on March 6, 1862 as a Corporal in the 5th Company of the Washington Artillery of New Orleans. Promoted to Sergeant on June 4, 1862. Returned to the ranks (Private) at his own request August 6, 1863. Surrendered to General Canby on May 4, 1865.
