This is a very fine eye doctor's kit. Wood case lined in purple velvet. This is a nearly complete kit of delicate tools. Oval label inside reads: "G. TIEMANN & CO. / MANUFACTURERS / OF / SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS / 67 CHATHAM ST. N.Y."

Lower portion of case holds 18 bone handled tools, each marked "G. TIEMANN" as well as a small compartment with lid holding needles. Under the lid in the upper portion of the case are various scissors, tweezers, and other unknown implements.

The hinged wood case is held closed by two sliding hooks on the front.
