Ninth plate tintype of a seated gentleman posed with his right hand holding the collar of his medium-colored jacket. He wears a dark, wide-brimmed slouch hat at a rakish angle, a large black bowtie and a loud dark vest with large white flowers that remind one of bursting fire-works. The subject’s cheeks are lightly tinted and a close look at his face reveals he is a bit cross-eyed.
The contrast and clarity of the image are good.
Photo comes with a plain brass mat and decorative stamped brass frame in a full cloth case. [ad] [ph:L]
