Waist-up view of a young Confederate wearing a dark forage cap and a light-colored nine button shell jacket with high collar and cloth epaulettes. The subject also wears a leather waistbelt with a narrow strap sewn to one end which connects to a small roller buckle on the other. Tucked in the belt is a good-sized side knife. The subject’s cheeks are also slightly tinted rose.

Contrast and clarity are excellent. Behind the subject there are some white spots that may be reflected sunlight or just oxidation on the plate. The subject does not seem to be affected by it at all.

Image comes in a full case with decorative brass mat and stamped brass frame.  [ad][ph:L]
