TINTYPE OF UNION CORPORAL POSED IN FRONT OF TENT

$150.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 490-6149

Image is a tintype about 8th plate size housed in a sixth plate case.

Image shows a Union corporal posed leaning against a tree branch with one hand on his hip and his legs crossed. He stands in front of a wedge tent. Image has an outdoor look but appears to have been done in a studio.

The unknown subject wears a dark shell jacket with corporal stripes on each sleeve with trousers that have a very light sky-blue tint.

Contrast and clarity are excellent. There is a small bit is missing emulsion on the subject’s right thigh but that does not detract from the image.

Photo come in a full case with a plain brass mat that shows spots of surface dirt and dust and the usual stamped brass frame.  [ad][ph:L]
