Khaki cloth flight helmet meant for use by fighter and bomber crews. This helmet is in excellent unused condition.

The khaki cloth body is very clean. The attached leather straps on the back of the helmet are excellent with all snaps. Each side of the face has the four snaps for the oxygen mask. Chinstrap is present and has proper snap and buckle. Cloth padding on the chinstrap is excellent. The visor of the cap has a soft leather underlining. Each ear has black hard rubber pockets for radio receivers. Above the left ear piece is a winged star in a circle Army Air Forces mark.

The interior matches the exterior. Both ear-pads are present and the original label that reads in part “SPEC. AN-H-15 / MEDIUM /BATES SHOE COMPANY / ARMY AIR FORCES.” There is also an order number and stock number. Stamped in black ink above the right ear is another Army Air Forces star.

Overall an excellent example of a World War Two flight helmet. [ad][ph:L]
