Family members of John Peterson have asked The Horse Soldier to spread the word to John's Gettysburg friends about an informal celebration of life in honor of John to be held at the Garryowen Pub (a favorite of John's) on Thursday, May 22, 6pm-8:30pm. The family has reserved a room there. There will be lots of appetizers and munching and the first drink is on the family.

Like everyone, we are devastated by the sudden loss of our dear brother and uncle. John spent more than 30 years in Gettysburg, considered it his home and found a community of kindred spirits there. We can think of nothing better than to be in the company of John's friends, colleagues and kindred spirits at this time.

So please save the date and join us on May 22 at the Garryowen Pub. A couple of people will make some brief prepared remarks, but please bring your own story to share. And if you have an instrument and want to share a song with everyone, please do. I know John would like that!

Betsy Peterson (on behalf of the Peterson Family)
