Until Monday, June 22nd. Today, June 19th - or Juneteenth - is a recognized government holiday, and postal offices are closed for the day.

Juneteenth commemorates and recognizes 6/19/1865, the day when General Gordon Granger ordered the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas at the end of the Civil War. Record of its earliest celebrations date back to 1866, involving church-centered community gatherings in Texas.
