A postcard recently arrived at the shop featuring a photograph taken from in front of the Copse of Trees on Hancock Avenue, looking southwest. A 12-pounder Napoleon cannon dominates the foreground. In the upper-right background, the red barn of the Sherfy Farm is visible. Across Emmitsburg Road stands the house (no longer there) once owned by Chet and Pat Small, where they lived with their children—including current Horse Soldier owners Sam and Wes—until 1979. The business began in that house, then moved to a small Dutch-style barn in the backyard. It later relocated to Gettysburg Village on Steinwehr Avenue before settling at its current location, 219 Steinwehr.
