MUSEUM QUALITY MG3 WW2 GERMAN LIGHT MACHINE GUN

$3,950.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: G3949

We at The Horse Solider are very proud to offer this museum quality example of the famous MG34 WW2 German light machine gun. A true rarity as this display gun is all numbers matching. The majority of mg34 kits on the market are non-matching. As this weapon was never used and kept in storage by Portugal it was spared from its parts having been worn out and needing replacing or damaged.

All parts have matching serial numbers, no replacement parts are present. This MG34 is in virtually brand new un-issued mint condition. The bipod does not have a matching number as they were manufactured by a subcontractor and supplied to the factory for final assembly of the weapon. All most certainly the very best condition MG34 parts set on the market today. This mg34 retains its original receiver "Extremely rare" which was demilled to ATF specs. This example does not come with its bolt or internal springs.

Released in the 1970s from military stores (in Portugal) this is one of just 500 MG 34 LMGs produced by the Third Reich and delivered to Portugal spring of 1944. Portugal had adopted the MG 34 in 1940 designating it the M/940 but re-designated it the M/944 when this shipment arrived. These MG34s were special ordered which a special black corrosion resistant coating and the Letters for Portuguese F T A added to the trigger controls to stand in for the German letters S E D "Safe" "Semi-automatic" "Full automatic"

This example was manufactured in January of 194 4 and is serial numbered 1671. The serial number does not have a letter prefix meaning it was made in the first batch of the year. The manufacturer code is "dot" (Waffenwerke Brunn A.G. of Brno.) which was an arms factory in Czechoslovakia under German occupation from 1939 until it was taken over by the Soviets in 1945.

Overall a fantastic piece that would be great for any WW2 collection or Parts kit usable for a legal build.
