British manufactured Britten shell in excellent unfired condition. Fuse adapter is missing, but the threads in the nose where it would have been are in very good shape. A ring around the nose probably from the lathing process of manufacture is visible. Lead sabot is intact. Shell has been professionally cleaned, and shows minimal surface pitting. These rare shells were imported from Britain for use by the Confederates.
