One of the most popular bottles of the Civil War period is the cathedral pickle bottle. It followed the gothic style in vogue at the time and emulated the well-recognized church window form.

Light aqua/green in color, this wide mouth (1 7/8” diameter) bottle measures 7 1/4” tall; square base is 2 1/4” wide. Glass is somewhat cloudy. Shallow scratches on neck that can be felt by fingertip.  Letters “S J G” vertically on one panel.
