This artifact is a fine condition, non-dug example of a two-piece CS army general service button as worn on the uniforms of Confederate soldiers.    The brass, coat-size button is of two-piece construction with a border.   Handsome button remains bright.  23 mm.   Button exhibits the lined letters “C. S. A.” all displayed on a plain, unlined field.  Back side excellent with shank strong, tight and not bent.  Has a lightly stamped backmark of “SUPERIOR QUALITY”.   Tice #CSG203A3.  This original Confederate Army General Service button is an excellent piece and is a worthy addition to any Civil War button display or Southern-focused collection.   [jet]
