Albert’s PA38AV. Three part officer staff button. 23.3mm. Button depicts "NG" - some of the early Pennsylvania militia units were reorganized as Pennsylvania "National Guard". Button was manufactured before the end of the Civil War, but use continued well beyond the war. Backmark: "W. G. MINTZER / PHILA.. (star)" rmdc in stippled field. Shank present. Rim cracked, small portion missing.
