This non-excavated uniform button is an excellent condition, brass, coat-size button as worn on Federal officer’s cavalry uniforms during the Civil War. The brass device is a high convex-shaped, two-piece button that measures 22mm in diameter. Designated as a CV215A52 in Tice’s reference. Block letter “C” is seen within the eagle’s shield device on the button face. Backmark reads “EXTRA QUALITY”. Shank is strong and tight. Retains much of the original gold gilt on the entire button face. Button exhibits no pushes or dents. A fine original Federal cavalry officer’s uniform coat button.
