This original note is dated “RICHMOND FEBY. 17th 1864” on the face with a medallion at upper right with “500” and another medallion at lower right with a bust portrait of Stonewall Jackson. The left edge of the bill has “500” over a Confederate battle flag. The lower left corner has been mostly eaten away. Bill has aged some and has a small tear at top center. Bill has a stamped serial number of 16371 and is signed in strong ink. Reverse of the bill is blank.
With the bill are coupons clipped from the bottom of a Confederate bond. Coupons are in very nice shape.
This bill is quite rare and in better condition would command a higher price. [ad]
