Discharge was given to Henry Smith, Private of Captain George W. Seward’s Co. A, 2oth Regiment of Pennsylvania Cavalry Volunteers, who was enrolled in June 1863 to serve six months. Discharge is dated December 29, 1863 in Harrisburg. Thomas is listed as being born in Perry County, was nineteen years old, 5’7”, with ruddy complexion and blue eyes, light hair, and worked as a farmer. Document is signed by Colonel John E. Wynkoop.
Measures 8 ½” x 11”. Paper has yellowed with age. Shows fold creases and scattered spotting and chipping. Totally readable. [SL]
