Post-war letter dated “Yorkville, SC, Sept. 24, 1890. 2 pp., in ink, on lined paper bearing the letterhead of the “Office of / County School Commissioner / York, County, S.C.” This letter is addressed to Miss Emma J. Neafie[?] of New York, in response to an autograph request. It exhibits fold lines, else VG in all respects.
Text: “Your letter of June 23rd was missing and after traveling around for a long time, reached only a short time ago. I take pleasure in sending the autograph requested/ Genl. L.M. Law’s address is Savannah, GA—G.B. Crittenden, I think is dead—Gen. W.T. Martin is in Mississippi, but where, I do not know. You might write the P.M. at Canton or Aberdeen Miss. My impression is that he was from one of those places. / Yours Very Respectfully / E.M. Law [signature]”
