[Similar to P1856 bayonet.] Crown marking “VR” in reverse, “E crown 1” on obverse, with “J.B.” stamped on top flatted edge. Single edged blade measures 22.75” in length, 1.25” in width. Exhibits clean medium gray patina [slightly darker on obverse] with light scratching and pitting [heavier on the obverse]. Iron cross-guard exhibits similar patina with similar scratching and pitting. Iron hilt with black checkered gutta percha grips. Tang bears marking “E crown 41”. Lever release operable. Overall VG, & highly collectible. Whitworth bayonets are scarce.
