Straight spear-pointed blade, 20.125” in length, 1.125” in width, .33” thick. Markings lightly worn, but entirely legible. Bright blade exhibits light patches of condensation spotting. Brass fish-scale hilt terminates in a sharp bird’s head pommel, and has pair of Dahlgren naval guns superimposed upon a kedge anchor within a circular, stippled background. Lightly nicked with stamped “s” on cross guard.
Black leather scabbard with brass mountings, obverse-side throat frog, & square-toed drag. Leather is bright & strong, with light cracking. Brass exhibits smooth medium coppery patina. VG overall, and a fine collector’s piece. Navy Rolling block bayonets are scarce.
