Scabbard has a black leather covered wood body made to accept the quadrangle socket bayonet. The leather is in good condition, is complete and shows only light surface wear. Approx. half an inch of the leather is missing from the top just below the throat. The iron throat has a light coat of surface rust. The bottom of the scabbard has a round iron finial. Attached to the throat is a 2.75 inch iron stud for attaching to a frog.

With the scabbard is an Austrian bayonet with a slanted mortise. The locking ring mounted on the socket works but is a little stiff. Quadrangle bayonet has a dark socket and knuckle but the blade is semi-bright with light scattered mottling.

Overall a very nice set.
