This bayonet has one of the nicest blued blades that we have seen in a while. The blade meas. approx. 16.00 inches long with a 12.50 inch unstopped fuller. Blade retains approx. 98% of it blue. True edge has several very tiny nicks. One side of the ricasso is marked with “S. A.” over a bursting bomb and “1918” while the opposite ricasso has “US” over “1027062.” All markings are strong. Hilt has a nice wood grip with a blued iron toe and blued guard with “”O” ring.
Scabbard is covered in khaki canvas with a brown leather tip. Bayonet fits the scabbard perfectly and locks in place. Canvas has some light surface dirt but is otherwise in very nice condition. Top back of scabbard has two iron hooks for attaching to the web belt. [ad]
