The overall length of the drawn bayonet is 19.50 inches. The blade itself meas. approx. 14.25 inches long with an 11.00 inch long central fuller. The blades true edge is free of nicks. The back spine has a fierce saw tooth surface. One side of the blades ricasso is stamped with a crown over “ERFURT” and the other side is blank. Top of spine near the handle is stamped with a crown over “W” over “12.”
Contoured bird’s head pommel has a stud guide and locking stud. Its slightly contoured wooden grips are fixed by two rivets. Grip is in good condition. Iron cross guard is unit marked with “30. P. 1. 34.”
Iron scabbard shows a dark patina from wear but is in solid condition. [ad]
