Very good condition Enfield Bayonet with accompanying scabbard.  This British-made accoutrement is an original socket bayonet made for the Enfield .577 caliber musket longarm. The bayonet’s blade measures 17 ¼”.  The flat shank is stamped with a royal crown, the letter ‘B’, and number ’67.’  There are a few unclear markings closer to the neck, but there is a clear ‘4’ at the crux of the neck and elbow.  The socket measures 3” and the socket ring moves, but is snug.

Scabbard is in good condition and retains all brass pieces.  The backside seam stitching is tight and unbroken.  There is no evidence of crazing.

This is a fine example of a British Enfield accoutrement for any collector.  [mk] [ph:L]
