The blade on this bayonet looks to be steel painted black but is actually black plastic with a steel ricasso. Blade meas. approx. 16.00 inches long and is in nice condition. One side of the ricasso is marked “USN MARK 1” while the opposite side is marked “B. M. CO. “over “NORD- 8066” with “VP.”
Elliptical guard and muzzle ring are also made of black plastic as is the grip. Bird head pommel is metal and has slot for attaching to the rifle.
OD green fiberglass scabbard is in good condition with metal throat marked “USN” over “MK1.” Reverse of the throat has two hooks for attaching to the web belt. [ad] [ph:L]
