The blade is approximately 20 1/8 inches in length and marked “1861” on one side of the ricasso. The opposite side is stamped “COLLINS & C0 / HARTFORD / CONN”. Fuller is about 14” long. Blade has a smooth attractive even patina overall. The hilt is cast brass. The patina is a mild yellow. Marked on the end of the handle is a production number “55”. The cross guard, ribbed grip, and locking spring in the handle are all in excellent condition.  [kn] [ph:L]
