Inspector mark: “U.S. / G.K.C. / 1865”. [Also, “G. W. C.” inspector mark on pommel cap, and “G.K.C.” on scabbard drag]. Brilliant pristine blade measuring 35” in length, 1.125” in width at base. Washer present. Hilt assembly tight and symmetrical. Brass work exhibits light coppery patina with slight scratches. Leather grip & brass wire-wrap are original, and near pristine. Medium gray scabbard exhibit two small, minor dents near drag. Else VG to fine. Highly attractive.
